WTF Blizzcon Weekend?

This year is the first year that Chawa and I have purchased the Blizzcon live stream, which airs tomorrow and Saturday.

As such, we’ve made some plans around it:   Take Friday off, do some chores in the morning, watch stream, eat chips, etc.  Saturday, hang out with Vidyala and Vosskah and watch the Con with them.  Some fun coupled with relaxation.  Good times!

Well, because I have plans for the weekend, people suddenly decided they wanted to invite me to things.  I turned down a round of golf for tomorrow because I have plans.  I turned down box seats for a Calgary Flames game on Saturday because I have plans.

I look forward to those plans…but did golf and box seats have to be THIS WEEKEND?!?!  *shakes fist into the air*

I know ultimatums are kind of silly, but Blizz…hear me now…this Blizzcon better be freakin’ amazing.

PS:  You may want to check out the book, “The Patrol“.

I’m a V.I.P.

You know how I know?!

BECAUSE MY TICKETS TO SOUNDGARDEN SAY SO!!!

(Sorry, this is totally unrelated to WoW and I haven’t even finished the 20 Days of Blogging…)

BUT I’M FREAKIN’ STOKED!

They’ve been my favourite band since, ooh, about 1991 when my sister introduced me to them while we lived in Germany.  She saw them play in Frankfurt, the lucky monkey!

(I realize that I”m showing my age…there may be a reader or two out there that didn’t exist in 1991.)

They broke up in 1997.  That made me a sad panda.  They got back together in 2010 and now they’re touring again.  And I get to be a part of that!  BwAhahahahahahahahahahah!!!

Anyway, just had to share that before I spontaneously combusted.

Carry on.

Musical Interlude

I’ve been working on a lengthy post.

It’s been hard to write, as the process has been full of interruptions. Mostly my own fault for doing the majority of my ramblings during my lunch hour at work. I know, I know…how silly of me to let my job get in the way of my posts. But it’s just about ready, probably after a few tweaks.

Anyway, I would have posted it this weekend. But it’s on my work computer. Teeheehee…whoops!

So, instead of me rambling, you get a music video from an artist I’ve been really enjoying since I played Red Dead Redemption. Those who have played probably know who I’m talking about.

That’s right: Jose Gonzalez. And this is a cover of a Massive Attack song.

Side note: While writing this I also managed to tame Gondria on my hunter. Yay me!

Time for coffee.

Lunch Lady Regis

Despite the post title, this isn’t actually another post about Cooking in WoW or related achievements.

I just happen to write most of my blog posts over lunch, like this one.  (For those who are curious, today’s lunch consists of leftover Teriyaki Chicken stir fry.)  While I do have a blog post that will be inspiring, moving,  and provacative that is bouncing around in my brain…that’s not what this post is about.

See, lunch time is when I get most of my blog reading done, as well.  And this post is a quick shout-out to a couple of those:

Well, Chawa and I got a Christmas Winter Veil card from Pacheco & [Enhancement Shaman/Prot Pally].

It contained a lovely, hand-crafted gift.

A gift that had me saying, “OMFG!  We have to take a picture and put up a blog post!!”

Well, Pacheco actually wrote her own blog post on:

HOW TO MAKE A MINI-GUILD BANNER OF AWESOMENESS!!!

Seriously, check it oooout!

We waited with baited breath, but it’s finally official:

Raid from the Heart is being held on Saturday, October 16th!*  12:15pm server time!

Last year, some of you may recall that Big Bear Butt held a Raid for the Cure, in honour of one of his guildmates who ended up being diagnosed with breast cancer.  Anyone who attended last year can attest to the fact that it was a good bit of fun, all in support of an excellent cause.

This year, as the name would suggest, is about raising awareness with matters of the heart.  No, no – not all that girly emotional stuff that us men get confused with.  It’s literally one’s heart – which, as far as I’m concerned, is an equally excellent cause as RftC was (and still is).  And like last year, I expect this raid will have just as many people who have been affected, directly or indirectly, by the many varying heart conditions out there.  So, I’m also sure it will be a moving event, as well…yes, some of that girly emotional stuff.

The event will be held on the Kael’thas – US server, with hosts on both Horde and Alliance factions.  For more in-depth details, they can be found on BBB’s blog here.  You’ll also find some info on where you can donate or you can even score a pretty sweet t-shirt via the Cafepress store.

My Grandfather (father’s side) died from his second heart attack when I was 10.  My Grandmother (mother’s side) died when I was 16 from her second stroke (which I associate with the heart because of the H&S Foundation.)  Heck, I even had one of my good army buddies have heart surgery before he was 30, and he’s a personal trainer, so you can imagine how the advances in heart research have saved his life.

You can damn well bet I’m going to be there.

So, come on out – support the cause and have some fun!

* Oh yeah – Cataclsym, December 7th.  For reals.

I, like most others, love to complain.  Whether it be about bad tanks, loot ninjas, or not living in bestest place ever.

I know I’m not the only one who complains.  We all do at some point.  And that’s okay.  But do you ever find yourself starting to exhibit the behavour you condemn?*
