Thor, God of Thunder?
Thorn of blunder?
Torn us under?
No, no, no…
With the extended downtime tomorrow, it is anticipated that Azeroth will indeed be torn asunder. Everything we have known for the last six years will change drastically. New landscapes, new quests, revised achievements… everything 1 – 60.
HOLY CRAP! TOMORROW!
What I find craziest about this is that if I wanted, I could roll my Tauren
Siege Tank Paladin tomorrow. And I can get crackin’ at that a whole two weeks before the expansion! Awesomesauce! (I know Dechion is going to have another hunter…)
Regardless, I’m really looking forward to this. It should be fun and it’s definitely exciting to observe that are going to happen!
And hopefully it will get people to stop whining about the Elemental Invasion. I like the fact that this is rather invasive upon Thunder Bluff and Orgimmar, much like the Scourge Invasion building up to WotLK. It provides that never-ending tension that the elements are freaked out and I think it provides a good means to keep people involved with the evolution of the WoW storyline. And really, if don’t like it, there is a very simple solution: Take the zeppelin to Undercity. Even your level 2 bank alt can make it there unscathed. So, really, either enjoy it or avoid it – but please, just stop the bitching already. Your tears won’t make the fire elementals go away.
Big Bear Butt also wrote some thoughts on the timing of this patch release. While it makes sense to me to release this patch two weeks prior to the expansion release and even before American Thanksgiving, I kind of wonder how it may impact Pilgrim’s Bounty. I don’t actually have that achievement on any of my toons and I’m trying to finally get it done on my mage. Even last night, we did a “five man raid” on Darnassus. While some chose to defend their feast tables, for a five man group we did pretty well. (Mage, Warlock, 2 Disc priests, and a rogue.)
Speaking of – why the hell is it so damn hard to do some of these achievements for Horde? Sure, you can sit at Stormwind and not even get flagged. But you can do that at Orgrimmar, too. You can’t do that at Ironforge. You get swarmed by guards – but hey, the graveyard is close! And you have to take that stupid boat to get to Darnassus or Exodar, which will both get you flagged. Okay, you get flagged for Undercity and probably Thunder Bluff. I have no idea about Silvermoon City. But hell, you have to run THROUGH Darnassus to get to the feast tables. I’m unimpressed. *grumble*
Anyway, I’ve wasted my lunch break rambling…but yeah, I’m stoked for tomorrow!
