Illidan once told us when Burning Crusade was pending release, “You are NOT prepared.” Little did I realize that he was referring to a different patch.
I actually saw it before I read about it. But in case you haven’t heard, Patch 4.0 is on the downlow… er, download.
I had about 15 minutes this morning before I had to catch my wyvern bus to work, so I figured I’d check out my auctions. Fire up the computer and start WoW and I see there’s a patch download ready. 4.0 is on the PTR and now it’s ready for download? Change is coming sooner than I expected!
And being the diligent boyfriend, I turn on Chawa’s computer and start downloading the patch for her. Sure, it’s a background download… but the sooner it’s DL’ed, the sooner it stops chewing up resources.
All this is kind of coincidental because Chawa and I chatted a bit last night about NOT being ready for the upcoming changes. I don’t know about her, but I know I’ve avoided most of the Cataclysm news because most of it is not finalized. Little did I realize that these changes are closer to ready than I had suspected.
As such, I have no idea how different the play mechanics are going to be for any of my characters. And my baby hunter isn’t as close to 80 as I had planned, either. And I haven’t maxed out my Inscription.
I am definitely not prepared for this.
I’m even a little bit less prepared now. When I finished my auctions and whatnot this morning, I turned off my computer, which subsequently cancelled the patch download. But of course, Chawa’s will be done by now. 😛
So, anyway, are you ready for the upcoming changes? Have you been doing your research and homework? Do you know how your playstyle will adjust to the new mechanics?
