Well, Pacheco beat me to it.
Read the good news about The Zug Initiative downing The Crimson Hall in ICC. With the added bonus of a successful Sarth-3D zerg! With screenshots – or it didn’t happen!
(Quite frankly, most wouldn’t have produced a better post. So really, go read it!)
… I’m waaaiting…
*ahem* Now that you’ve read Pach’s post, here’s a little bit about how we did it…
Firstly, we still do this with the 30% ICC buff. And frankly, I’m glad we have it. Sure, it’s not all “uber” and such… but who cares? I’m happy to see the content and experience the fights!
Anyway, the raid makeup:
- Bear tank (71k health)
- Pally tank (59k health)
- 3 hunters (Yes, 3… usually one of each spec, depending on fight)
- 1 Lock (Destro or Aff, depending on fight)
- 1 Priest (Disc or Shadow, depending on fight)
- 1 Rogue (Combat, I believe)
- 1 Tree
- 1 Shaman (Resto/Ele, but Resto for most of our progression stuff)
Blood Princes gave us quite a few headaches before, as our ranged tank just couldn’t keep up with Empowered Keleseth. So we changed it up a little. We used 3 healers, had me (Bear tank) take both Taldaram and Valanar while the Pally took on Keleseth. The hunter pets stayed on the kinetic bombs. This worked like a charm! Everyone stayed on top of everything and we one shot the buggers with the new strategy!
So, next up was Blood-Queen Lana’thel…well, not before a mishap on some of the trash – but that was merely a setback. 😛 Because that fight is a bit of a DPS race, we had the Priest go to Shadow. We loosely organized our bite priority and charged Lana’thel with victory in mind!
But we wiped. 🙂
As we really hadn’t seen the fight before, we didn’t totally know what to expect or how the bite mechanism worked, etc. So, with a better idea, we went ahead with round 2. That was going well, but a couple of people got too close during the air phase and wiped again. Third time, we had a very specific bite order and placed people accordingly around the boss, with one set of biting on the left side and the other on the right side. The bite order, which was based “top DPS”* and some practicality, was as follows:
- Pacheco (Hunter)
- Pacheco -> Rogue
- Pacheco -> Chawa || Rogue -> Other Hunter
- Chawa -> Me || Pacheco -> Priest || Rogue -> Pally Tank || Hunter -> Warlock
* – Our DPS’ers are all very close can vary a bit depending on the fight. They’re all awesome!
We barely had to do that last stage of the biting, but there were a hiccup or two and we had a couple of people die. But by that time, the Blood-Queen was eating dirt!
We were pretty stoked to get ourselves to 9/12 in ICC! And because it went relatively smooth and quick, we decided to go beat up everyone in the Plagueworks. All that with a nice bonus of our run – most of the loot acquired was useful for at least someone in the raid! Hooray!
And soon enough, we’ll be knocking on Arthas‘ door. 🙂
